I absolutely love this - it's funny, when I opened today's email - I expected to read about how making art sans AI was more rewarding for both the artist and the audience (i.e. making art at a glacial pace). This was a really pleasant surprise that it was not AI related haha
omggg haha I didn't even think of that! I do have another piece I'm working on that is about making "Slow Art" though, which is about that ironicly haha. So get ready for that one too 😅
Beautiful. Love all of the artwork you featured here but especially the flags. There is a talented artist in Revelstoke where I live who features glaciers in a lot of her work https://www.hayleystewart.com/gallery
This roundup on climate communication through art brings to mind several wonderful experiments (and they are ALL experiments because there’s very little analysis showing if/how/whether any of this “works” (changes behavior). The Tempestry Project knitting climate histories is one. Carter Brooks’ ice alternatives to sand-streaming hourglasses is another. More here (cartooning and science doodling): https://revkin.substack.com/p/when-it-comes-to-climate-and-sustainable?utm_source=publication-search

Love this! What a wonderful spotlight. I share your love of sustainability and admire the way you find glimmers of beauty and hope.
Thank you Sarah! That means so much to hear :)
