I have a big life update™
Reflecting on my creative discography
Hi friends, I have a big life update™
I’m looking for a ~job~
After 4 years of being a full-time artist, I’m ready for my next chapter.
One of the coolest parts of this process is that I get to use my own resource, So You Want to Work in Climate, to research roles. It's a surreal experience to have built this database and now be using it myself. For years, I’ve had people message me saying it’s helped them make the transition and it’s pretty cool to be using it for myself.
I’ve been thinking of my career like musicians think about albums.
I’ve watched a lot of documentaries recently about musicians like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Noah Kahan. It’s been helpful to see how these incredible artists close the chapter on each album and move forward, designing entirely new works of art each time.
As I reflect on this era, I’m thinking about my greatest hits. I’m so proud of the art I’ve created and grateful for the community I’ve found here.
I published a book called Quietest Places in New York City that’s now sold in Barnes & Noble and indie bookstores nationwide. I published a coloring book and illustrated a children’s book. I built an app called Free Time to help people reduce their screen time.
I’ve worked with amazing clients like the U.S. Department of Energy, Sunrun, Climate Changemakers, and The Guardian. I was an artist-in-residence for MCJ. I’ve taught workshops at Harvard, NBCUniversal, MIT, and NYU. I’ve taught a Climate Art 101 course, growing a community of 100+ creatives in climate.
I’ve been featured in Forbes, The Washington Post, The Verge, and was named one of Grist 50 fixers. I’ve made climate art that has reached millions of people around the world.
This has been a pretty epic discography!
The Noah Kahan documentary chronicles his Stick Season tour, knowing it was likely the biggest tour of his life. After the tour ended, he entered a depression, not knowing how to top that huge accomplishment. While I’m not selling out concert venues across the world, I connected with some of his insights and emotions.
This has been a year of completing big works. I launched my app and book within a few months of each other. Publishing a book has always been a dream, and now it’s come true. After these launches, I was feeling a bit low myself.
I took a month off posting on social media to tune into my own voice, imagining what I want my next album to be.
I’ve realized that I’ve been a solo artist for the past few years and I’m ready to join a band. I’m looking for these types of roles, but open to other suggestions!
Communications (ex: climate communications)
Content strategy/marketing/branding
Product Marketing Manager
Strategy, program management, or operations
I've spent the past four years in climate, and before that I co-founded a kids' coding company that grew to $1M in revenue and was acquired. I'm open to mission-driven work across climate, education, mental health, and tech.
I’m also happy to do consulting or part-time/fractional work until I find the right role.
If you know of any roles I might be a good fit for, just reply to this email. Or if you want to share this with anyone who might be hiring or could be helpful, I would really appreciate it!
