Greetings from Greece!
Surprise, I’m on vacation in Crete soaking up the sun for 10 days with my family! I’ll tell you more about that next week but I wanted to send over a quick note about a Free Art Workshop for Climate Anxiety I’m hosting on May 23 at 1pm.
To celebrate mental health month, we'll have a relaxing afternoon of art activities. We'll learn how to channel our big feelings about climate change into art.
Mental health is really important to me and I’ve learned a lot of tools and tricks to combine art as a therapeutic way to process climate anxiety.Â
One of my favorite books about the benefits of art for mental health is Your Brain on Art, which explores the intersection between neuroscience and art.
I love that art helps us disconnect from technology and enter a state of flow. It's a form of meditation that allows us to connect deeply with the present moment.
Art is not only fun, but benefits our brain and body. It’s like a free multivitamin for our mind. A study in the Journal of the American Art Therapy Association found that 71% of participants felt less stressed after a single art-making session.
Climate Art 101 is launching soon!
I created several lessons about Art for Climate Anxiety in my Climate Art 101 Course. These activities and guided meditations share ways art can calm eco-anxiety. If you want to register for the course, early bird pricing is still available to get 30% off until May 20! It’s currently $95 for the 6-week, asynchronous program. You get access to:
Build creative habits through making art everyday for 30 days
Weekly activities to develop new climate art skills
10 recorded climate art workshops
5 guided creativity meditations
Access to a community of climate creatives
Exercises to use art to decrease climate anxiety
