I did something scary today. I have been really nervous to start filming for my Climate Art 101 course that launches next month.
I'm very camera shy and have managed to avoid being in front of it for years.
But I faced my fear and started today! Here's a little preview 🎉
Some things that helped me with this:
I made an Instagram story in the morning where I talked on camera for the first time. It was under a minute and perfect practice to get more comfortable showing my face. I asked for support from friends and received SO many amazing messages to hype me up. That was huge.
I picked the easiest portion to film first. I chose a section that was short, didn’t require a ton of memorization, and that I was excited to talk about first.
I shared a post with this little clip on social media after and got more support. Slowly letting my mind and body get more comfortable with being seen on the internet is a process and I wanted to integrate it.
Remembering this doesn’t need to be perfect. This course is not about filming excellent videos, it’s about learning how to make climate art. People aren’t going to be devastated if my lighting isn’t amazing- I just need to communicate effectively.
I realized I haven’t shared too much of the details of the course itself and wanted to send over the info! If you sign up before May 1, you can save 50%.
My favorite quote is “the role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible” by Toni Cade Bambara. I believe that artists have a magical power to help us imagine a world we want to live in.
Together we'll learn how to use art as a tool to simplify topics in climate change. This 6 week program includes:
Build creative habits through making art everyday for 30 days
Weekly activities to develop new climate art skills
10 recorded climate art workshops
5 guided creativity meditations
Access to a community of climate creatives
Exercises to use art to decrease climate anxiety
Daily Art Challenges + Habit Building
The core of this program is a "Creative 30 Challenge”. You will develop the practice of 30 minutes of creativity, everyday for 30 days. This includes 10 minutes meditation, 10 minutes journaling, and 10 minutes of making art.
Virtual, 6 Week Course
In this self-paced course, there are recordings and hands-on activities to help you find your creative superpowers and learn how to communicate about climate change. The first month we focus on making a variety of climate art daily. Next, there is a 2 week capstone project to dive deeper into a topic of your choice.

Hey Nicole, you may know this already, but the video was only 20 seconds long and cut off mid sentence.
