Each month, I curate my favorite things I’ve been reading, learning, and making art with. If you want to upgrade to get these 1x/month, you would make my day!

Reading
This month has been a lot. Fiction has been helping get me through it, especially the extra fluffy stuff. I read the Happy Ever Playlist by Abby Jimenez in a weekend and it went down easy. I read Just for the Summer earlier this year by the same author and it was my fave beach read. I liked this one but Just for the Summer still ranks higher for me.
Learning
I finished the first draft of my children’s book! It’s called Fluffy and the Shiny Trees (very much a working title). I made it in 6 weeks at a class through the School of Visual Arts.
I’d love feedback! If you have a little one, I’m happy to send you a free PDF to read together and hear your thoughts. Here are a few pages and mockups from my talented classmates.
Listening to
I met the Oshima Brothers at Dr. Ayana Johnson’s book launch party for What if We Get it Right. It’s the perfect music to relax with at the end of the day. They remind me of Mumford and Sons meets Bon Iver. I really like their songs “Love is Tall” and “These Cold Nights.” Listen here.
Watching
I fell into a calming rabbit hole with a Youtube channel called Campfire Stories. My favorite video is about a Swedish woman who moved to the forest, carved art from twigs, and planted thousands of trees after hers died from a blight. It beautifully connects climate anxiety, art, and mental health. Watch here.
I also loved their documentary about a woman sailing solo across the Atlantic. Watch here.
