Climate art events in April
Fun events I'm hosting this month
I’m hosting a few climate art events this month to celebrate Earth Day and my book launch!
The Quiet Car
What if we had a Quiet Car on the New York Subway? I've always dreamed of this, and this Saturday I'm making it happen!
To celebrate the launch of my book, Quietest Places in New York City, my publisher is helping organize a Quiet Car ride. Think Amtrak Quiet Car, but for the New York subway.
My favorite part: no phones allowed! Bring an analog activity (knitting, coloring, drawing, reading a book, journaling) and let's be quiet together!
We'll be riding it from the top of Manhattan at 96th street to Canal Street and then heading over to Chai Spot.
Everyone who RSVPs will get a free copy of the book as well!
Saturday, April 11 at 11am. RSVP here.
DUMBO Open Studios
My studiomates (@lizryanworld, @johnatoons, @skyemahaffie,) and I are participating in DUMBO Open Studios. I’ll be selling original art from the book and prints of some of my most popular climate art pieces.
Come say hi anytime April 18th and 19th between 1-6pm. More info here.
How to Make an Infographic for Earth Day
I’m hosting a free, virtual workshop for Earth Day on how to make an infographic. I’ll teach you the basics of translating complex concepts into a cute little infographic to celebrate our planet. It’s the day before Earth Day, so you can share whatever you create on Earth Day if you want.
April 21st at 1pm EST. RSVP here.
Climate Art 101
Registration is open for the summer cohort of Climate Art 101! I’m only doing one live cohort of the course a year now, so if you’ve ever been curious about taking it, this might be a good time.
It starts June 22nd and early bird pricing is available for the next 2 weeks. If you want to learn how to use art as a tool for climate communications, you can learn more here.
Here’s what’s included in the virtual 6-week course:
Daily art prompts to help you build a creative habit by making climate art for 30 days
10 recorded climate art workshops on topics like the Future of Clean Energy and How to Make an Infographic
5 guided creativity meditations to connect with your inner artist
Access to a community of over 100 climate creatives from around the world
Creative exercises to help reduce climate anxiety through art
I believe art is a climate solution. It's a powerful tool to communicate, connect with emotions, and inspire climate action. I’ve distilled what I’ve learned from the past 10 years of working in education, climate, communications, and art to craft each lesson with love.

Do you think it is realistic that I could take this coures while working 60 hrs. a week? I'm the most interested in the infographic portion.
