Holy moly, Climate Art 101 goes live on Monday! I’m writing this at the airport in Crete en route to NYC after a lovely vacation with my family. I have to admit that my brain hasn’t totally been on vacation though…I’ve been putting final touches on the course all week.
This course has been so enjoyable to create, I almost don’t want to stop creating it! I loved reflecting on my most viral climate art pieces to develop formulas for effective climate communication.
If you want to sign up to get the early bird discount before Monday, you can here for $95!
Here are some of the weekly modules:
Week 1- Climate Art Case Studies
Week 2- Best Practices for Climate Communications
Week 3- The Joy of Learning through Making Art
Week 4- Art for Climate Anxiety
One of my favorite themes of the course is about how I create solutions-oriented art. My mission is to use art to help imagine the world we want to thrive in. The more we see it, the more we believe it’s possible. All the art-prompts, activities, and meditations teach you techniques to make art that will tell stories of a brighter future.
I’ve been testing out the Creativity Meditations from the course on myself. I found this gorgeous rooftop restaurant that was totally empty, turned on a meditation, and blissed out.
I listened to “Morning Intention Setting for Creativity” and “Remembering Your Most Creative Self.” They clearly worked because I rushed back to the Airbnb to make 3 paintings!
The course includes these 5 Creativity Meditations:
Future Creative Self Visualization
Morning Intention Setting for Creativity
Creativity Affirmations
Remembering Your Most Creative Self
Designing your Safe Creative Space
The intentions new students are setting for the course are so energizing! I can tell this community is going to be wonderful. Some highlights so far:
A team is doing the course together for a professional development activity
A mom is participating with her daughter (this wasn’t made for kids specifically but I love that they’ll test it out!)
Someone wants to get over their creative perfectionism
People looking up to level up their climate communication skills
Lots of folks wanting to bring more creativity to their daily life
This is an asynchronous course. All the content has been pre-recorded or written so it’s ready to go when you are ready to create! A majority of folks are starting Monday, so if you’ve been thinking about joining, this is the perfect time to jump in 😊
I want this class to be accessible for all who want to participate. If finances are a challenge, please just email me!
When I got back to the Airbnb, I made a painting about Solar Water Heaters. They are everywhere here and I’ve become obsessed with them! Here is an article from Distilled about why we don’t see them more in America.
